Founder, Certified Professional Bookkeeper
There’s nothing Lynn Marsh enjoys more than working with clients to build their business into success.
She’s the founder of HealthyBOOKS and is a Certified Professional Bookkeeper and a member in good standing of the Institute of Professional Bookkeepers of Canada, a QuickBooks Certified Pro-Advisor and a Sage 50 partner.
Her talent and passion for bookkeeping was initially discovered at a dental clinic. Following completion of a Bachelor of Arts degree in social science at the University of Ottawa, Lynn wanted to utilize her educational background and organizational skills in an office setting. She completed an office administrative program in college, excelling in the accounting and math courses. She was hired as an office manager and business administrator for a busy dental clinic in Ottawa, where she enjoyed the financial components. While working there, Lynn starting going to Algonquin college in the evenings, completing a certificate in bookkeeping. She’s been hooked ever since.
HealthyBOOKS Bookkeeping Services was launched by Lynn in 2005 with clients in both the business and non-for-profit sectors. In 2009, she moved from Ottawa to Perth where she spent three years working with an accounting firm. After spending some time in Perth, Lynn noticed how the local community was in need of bookkeeping services, and she decided to relaunch HealthyBOOKS in 2012.
Her friendly approach, calm demeanor and work ethic have led to long-lasting, trusted client relationships.
She enjoys sitting down with a client to help solve any bookkeeping problems and crafting a plan that alleviates that pressure to keep on top of the books. When she completes any task for a client, whether big or small, she loves to see the relieved look on their face knowing the job has been done, and done well.
When she’s not being a super bookkeeping guru, Lynn enjoys spending time with her husband and two teenage children. They love to travel, visiting family in Newfoundland and Florida as much as possible.

Deborah keeps us all laughing in the office with her quick wit and sense of humour. With a solid background in bookkeeping and financials, Deborah brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the HealthyBOOKS Bookkeeping Services team. She’s a Certified Professional Bookkeeper and provides bookkeeping services and client support. Deborah loves working at HealthyBOOKS primarily because of the Friday afternoon beers. After that, she loves the work, the team, the continuous training and learning opportunities on the various bookkeeping programs and apps – top that off with thinking that Lynn is the World’s Okayest Boss (she’s got a plaque on her desk to prove it!). When Deborah’s outside of work, she enjoys walks with her husband and dog, waking up her teenage son numerous times every morning, getting outdoors, and visiting her daughter in Ottawa.
Cheri Barton has a partial fondness for HealthyBOOKS – that may be because Lynn is her sister. With a Bachelor of Social Sciences from University of Ottawa and a Bookkeeping Certificate from Algonquin College, Cheri has been running her own bookkeeping business in Vankleek Hill for more than 15 years, working with clients in agriculture, retail, trades and international wholesale. A mother of three, Cheri also enjoys knitting, reading and occasional Netflix binges (it goes well with the knitting).

With nearly 20 years of direct experience in accounting, Teri brings a wealth of knowledge to our clients. After graduating from Canadore College with a degree in business administration-accounting, Teri worked for a transportation company as an in-house bookkeeper and administrator for eight years. She then worked for an accounting firm for another nine years before joining HealthyBOOKS. With a Professional Bookkeepers Designation from the IPBC, Teri’s strive for continual learning is an asset. Teri loves working at HealthyBOOKS because of the relaxed environment and Lynn’s infectious laugh! Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children and keeps busy transporting the kids to and from dance, art and football activities. She also enjoys the outdoors, reading and the occasional Netflix binge.
Jen first started working part-time with HealthyBOOKS in Fall 2016, though her experience spans back 20 years. Upon completing the Business Administration & Finance program at Algonquin College, Jen’s worked in financial management and specializing in the non-profit sector, including grant writing, relationship building, and reporting to government representatives. At HealthyBOOKS, Jen works specifically with our not-for-profits clients. She says that HealthyBOOKS offers an engaging, supportive, and fun working environment, even when working under tight timelines. When she’s not plugging away at numbers, Jen is a busy mom of two teenagers, volunteers with the Canadian Cancer Society, Lanark County Community Justice, and the Perth Stingrays. Her family loves to travel, which has further encouraged Jen’s interest and study of photography.
